In his past work, Alex's art contained wood and steel elements that he physically labored over, grinding, cutting and polishing these components until they were ready to be assembled. Recently, Alex started a new series of sculptures that involve sewing.
As you can see above, the materials he uses have some resemblance to metal (one of his previous materials) but instead are crafted from fabric and paint. The green pieces in the center of the work appear to be plant growth moving out of the geometric shapes. I am excited to see Alex's new work develop as he continues his exploration into sewing.
